Tutorials

I love Carlo Daffara's tutorial on OpenOffice.org Writer. On some pages, however, not all of the lines show up. And often the text is hard or even impossible to read because there is overlap with other text. You'll see what I mean if you take a look. Could someone correct these problems? I'm using the latest version of Adobe Reader. I know that the tutorial is for OOo 1.1, but that's OK, because just about all of the material also applies to OOo 3.3.

Due to the author's choice of format – PDF – there is nothing we can do about the problems. It looks to me as though the new Reader doesn't handle the old PDFs properly.
You might try the Getting Started Guide. I strongly recommend the ODT versions, rather than the PDF. Reading the material in Writer itself, you can bring up the menus and dialogs and see them live (and if you mess something up, just close and reopen the file!).

TJ,

OK. Thanks for letting me know the reason for the problem I had with Carlo Daffara's OOo Writer PDF tutorial. I'm trying to find the odt Getting Started Guide that you recommended for OpenOffice Writer..........valoprube
