Standard Demographic Questions
The following standardized demographic questions should be included in every AOO research survey. In addition to capturing data that will enhance our understanding of our users, roles, goals and and their context of use, the standardized demographic data assists in analysis and correlation of survey data.
- Which version of the OpenOffice software do you use?
- Version 1.0+, Version 2.0+, Version 3.0+, I don't use OpenOffice, Other
- End survey if response “I don't use OpenOffice” for satisfaction surveys]
- Version 1.0+, Version 2.0+, Version 3.0+, I don't use OpenOffice, Other
- Which OpenOffice applications do you use (at least a few times a month)?
- Base, Calc, Draw, Impress, Math, Writer
- Overall, how satisfied are you with OpenOffice?
- Very satisfied, somewhat satisfied, Neutral/undecided, somewhat dissatisfied, very dissatisfied
- Why are you satisfied, dissatisfied, or neutral/undecided?
- If you answered with anything other than “Very satisfied,” what would it take to make you “Very satisfied?”
- Which factors contribute the most to your continued use of OpenOffice?
- List factors here
- Which OpenOffice application do you use the most often?
- Base, Calc, Draw, Impress, Math, Writer
- This question can be used to filter the detailed application-specific questions.
- For example, in a satisfaction survey, we would branch the survey to the detailed satisfaction questions related to the application indicated as most often used.
- Another example. In a task prioritization survey, we would branch the survey to the detailed tasks related to the application indicated as most often used.
