Overview

According to Wikipedia.org:

Strategic planning is an organization's process of defining its strategy, or direction, and making decisions on allocating its resources to pursue this strategy, including its capital and people.

Strategic Planning is the formal consideration of an organization's future course. All strategic planning deals with at least one of three key questions: What do we do, for whom do we do it, how do we excel?

The core of Strategic Planning is to have a **vision, mission, and values**. You might wonder, what's the difference?

Wikipedia.org defines them as follows:

  • Vision: Defines where the organization wants to be in the future. It reflects the optimistic view of the organization's future.
  • Mission: Defines where the organization is going now, basically describing the purpose, why this organization exists.
  • Values: Main values protected by the organization during the progression, reflecting the organization's culture and priorities.

We lack foundation in our campaign to spread OOo around the world. We need to establish our vision, for we need to know where we are heading, then we can look at where we are presently and draft mission. Lastly, every organization has set of values that they follow. For example, The U.S. Navy has Core Values: Honor, Courage , Commitment.

What is our vision?

Whats is our mission?

What are our values?
