Apache OpenOffice User Guide:Math

The system used by the wiki software to show mathematical expressions is different to the system used by Apache OpenOffice Math. For this reason, the examples provided on the wiki will look different from what the user will obtain on Math.

Math is an Apache OpenOffice component that can be used to introduce mathematical formulae on other documents.

Math was not designed to work independently: it does not have the page concept or any kind of formatting other than that of the mathematical expression. Math must be called from other documents (Writer, Draw, Impress...) with Insert → Object → Formula.
