Shortcut Keys Result
Enter keyActivates the focused button in a dialog.
EscTerminates the action or dialog. If in OpenOffice.org Help: goes up one level.
SpacebarToggles the focused checkbox in a dialog.
Arrow keysChanges the active control field in an option section of a dialog.
TabAdvances focus to the next section or element in a dialog.
Shift+TabMoves the focus to the previous section or element in a dialog.
Alt+Down ArrowOpens the list of the control field currently selected in a dialog. This shortcut applies to combo boxes and to icon buttons with pop-up menus. Close an opened list by pressing the Esc key.
DelDeletes the selected items into the recycle bin.
Shift+DelDeletes the selected items without putting them in the recycle bin.
BackspaceWhen a folder is shown: goes up one level (goes back).
Ctrl+Shift+SpacebarRemoves direct formatting from selected text or objects (as in Format > Default Formatting).
Ctrl+TabWhen positioned at the start of a header, a tab is inserted.
Enter (if an OLE object is selected)Activates the selected OLE object.
Enter (if a drawing object or text object is selected)Activates text input mode.
Ctrl+OOpens a document.
Ctrl+SSaves the current document.
Ctrl+NCreates a new document.
Shift+Ctrl+NOpens Templates and Documents dialog.
Ctrl+PPrints the document.
Ctrl+QExits the application.
Ctrl+XCuts the selected elements.
Ctrl+CCopies the selected items.
Ctrl+VPastes from the clipboard.
Ctrl+Shift+VOpens the Paste Special dialog.
Ctrl+ASelects all.
Ctrl+ZUndoes last action.
Ctrl+YRedoes last action.
Ctrl+FCalls the Find & Replace dialog.
Ctrl+Shift+FSearches for the last entered search term.
Ctrl+Shift+JToggles the view between fullscreen mode and normal mode in Writer or Calc.
Ctrl+Shift+RRefreshes (redraws) the document view.
Shift+Ctrl+IEnables or disables the selection cursor in read-only text.
Ctrl+IApplies the Italic attribute to the selected area. If the cursor is positioned in a word, this word is also marked in italic.
Ctrl+BApplies The Bold attribute to the selected area. If the cursor is positioned in a word, this word is also put in bold.
Ctrl+UApplies the Underlined attribute to the selected area. If the cursor is positioned in a word, this word is also underlined.
