## ASIN

Returns the inverse sine (the arcsine) of a number.

### Syntax:

**ASIN(number)**

- returns the inverse trigonometric sine of
, in other words the angle (in radians) whose sine is**number**. The angle returned is between**number**and**-PI/2**.**+PI/2**

- To return the angle in degrees, use the
function.**DEGREES**

### Example:

**ASIN(0)**

- returns
.**0**

**ASIN(1)**

- returns
(**1.5707963267949**radians).**PI/2**

**DEGREES(ASIN(0.5))**

- returns
. The sine of**30**degrees is**30**.**0.5**
