This is only half of the solution to my problem, unfortunately. No matter what I choose to open an Office file with, it still does not open. Example: I adjust .doc files to open with swriter.exe (presumeably, since that opens the OOo document writer). When I double click the file, though, my computer thinks for a moment (mouse changes, etc.) and then goes back to normal. No open document, no blank document opened... nothing. Same thing with XLS files, etc... double-clicking on them does not open the OOo software.

Any suggestion would be helpful!
