[15:00] #oooreleases: The topic for #oooreleases is: Release-Stauts-Meeting, every monday at 15:00 Hamburg Time (13:00 UTC in summer)
[15:01] of_sun: Howdy
[15:02] Fridrich: hello
[15:02] mdamboldt: Hi
[15:02] enoki: hi
[15:02] stefan_b: Moin
[15:03] MechtiIde: hello
[15:04] mdamboldt: First agenda item "Review OOo 3.2.1 release status"
[15:04] Fridrich: nice, so what is the time-frame
[15:04] mdamboldt: There are couple of areas we must touch until the next release, especially due to legal reasons.
[15:05] • Fridrich whispers the word "branding"
[15:05] mdamboldt: Those areas are re-branding specific which also effect the Online Help.
[15:06] mdamboldt: This results in L10N relevant changes. Due to this we (Sun) will take care about the L10N for the languages en-Us, de, es, it, fr, sv, pr, pt-BR, hu, ru, pl, ar, ja, ko, zh-CN, zh-TW.
[15:07] mdamboldt: Any other language is welcome with additional L10N of these areas for the 3.2.1 release, but it's not required.
[15:08] mdamboldt: We plan to have L10N changes integrated into the OOO320 master code line in the week of 15th March 2010. Plan is to have translation handover to L10N on 22nd March 2010 and a translation hardback date from L10N on 29th March 2010.
[15:08] _Nesshof_: mdamboldt: I guess these changes in the help are of minor relevance ?
[15:08] mdamboldt: _Nesshof_: yes
[15:09] mdamboldt: With some spacing to integrate everything, I expect the first Release Candidate to show up in the week of 19th April 2010.
[15:09] MechtiIde: mdamboldt, are there integated the fixes they are don in the last time
[15:10] mdamboldt: Mechtilde: Sorry, but can you please repeat your question in other words?
[15:11] MechtiIde: ok I try it
[15:12] MechtiIde: I know that the German team did some fixes since the last translation round
[15:12] MechtiIde: do you integrate them?
[15:12] MechtiIde: from pootle
[15:13] MechtiIde: Is it a better description?
[15:14] mdamboldt: First one additional note for the languages I just named: I missed 'nl' in my posing -> sorry to all the dutch folks! We will also deliver nl L10N.
[15:14] mdamboldt: Mechtilde: yes it is
[15:15] mdamboldt: Mechtilde: No, that L10N round will not reflect other L10N than the re-branding specific ones.
[15:18] _Nesshof_: when can we expect the copyright header changes in the sources ?
[15:19] rafaella hat den Chatroom betreten.
[15:19] rafaella: hi all,
[15:25] mdamboldt: rtimm: ?
[15:25] rtimm: _Nesshof_: I guess we should wait until the changes mdamboldt mentioned have been integrated
[15:25] rtimm: Right after that we can start a CWS
[15:26] mdamboldt: rtimm: I don't see this dependency. Please go ahead now!
[15:26] rtimm: doing the work would need around three days
[15:26] mdamboldt: ok
[15:27] rtimm: than some QA, integrate, and we're done
[15:29] mdamboldt: The past days I haven't seen any new 3.2.1 stoppers being raised. Any items known to be discussed here today?
[15:31] _rene_: mdamboldt: so that some languages say Sun and some Oracle?
[15:31] MechtiIde: I will look untill next time if all stoppers are visible
[15:31] _rene_: I don't believe that makes much sense :). Either all or none (and for that, 3.2.1 timeframe is too short imho)
[15:31] _rene_: but oh, well..
[15:31] _Nesshof_: _rene_: yes
[15:32] _rene_: _Nesshof_: that sucks
[15:32] _rene_: I'd more vote doing the change (as done in 3.3 anyway) with due time and proper l10n rounds
[15:32] _Nesshof_: _rene_: but that's reality, Sun still exists in some countries and in some not
[15:32] _rene_: _Nesshof_: that's not my point
[15:33] _rene_: besides that country != language
[15:33] _rene_: 15:05 < mdamboldt> This results in L10N relevant changes. Due to this we (Sun) will take care about the L10N for the languages en-Us, de, es, it, fr, sv, pr, pt-BR, hu, ru, pl, ar, ja, ko, zh-CN, zh-TW.
[15:33] _rene_: and those (^) are only a fraction of those the cumminty/distros build
[15:34] _rene_: so you will get a serious discepancy between them and "the rest"
[15:34] _Nesshof_: yes, you're right
[15:34] _Nesshof_: but I con't consider that is serious
[15:35] dtardon hat den Chatroom verlassen. (Quit: this parrot is dead)
[15:35] mdamboldt: Next topic 3.3 release
[15:35] _rene_: I do, especially when it comes to whether (C) Sun Microsystems or (C) Oracle appears in the about box
[15:35] mdamboldt: Of course the 3.2.1 re-branding changes are also relevant for 3.3. Thus we have to move the branch of date of 3.3 for that time.
[15:36] _rene_: or when one displays Sun whereas Sun doesn't exist anymore (and that differing from the same build but an other lang)
[15:39] _Nesshof_: _rene_: but oracle is "rechtsnachfolger" of sun, so this is not that serious I think
[15:39] _rene_: and I surely will not only enable those above but also the rest as the set above misses MANY important langs
[15:40] mdamboldt: _rene_: Don't worry about the Aboutbox (c) note, those are not translated at all.
[15:40] _Nesshof_: but of course we're also interested in doing this for all released languages
[15:40] _rene_: _Nesshof_: then do. properly. in 3.3.
[15:40] _rene_: s/released//
[15:40] Fridrich: _rene_: sun exists still, just not the Microsystems
[15:41] Fridrich: _rene_: you would be dead if it did not
[15:42] _rene_: *yawns*
[15:42] _rene_: lame joke
[15:43] mdamboldt: Anything else for todays meeting?
[15:44] paveljanik hat den Chatroom betreten.
[15:44] Fridrich: _rene_: always lame my jokes
[15:44] Fridrich: _rene_: on purpose
[15:45] mdamboldt: ok, sounds that all for today.......
[15:45] mdamboldt: bye
