This page explains how to import glossary and work with it in Pootle.


Get a glossary

There are two ways to get glossary:

  • From SunGloss
If community don't have previous translation or own TM, they can use TM from SunGloss as a glossary.
  • From Community's own glossary
If community have their own glossary, it can be uploaded to Pootle.

Upload glossary to Pootle

Community send a request to Pootle admin to upload glossary for their language.

From SunGloss

1. Community request to export glossary(Translation Memory,tmx format) from SunGloss.
2. Pootle admin exports TM and upload it to Pootle.

From Community's own glossary

1. Community send their glossary(tmx format) to Pootle admin.
2. Pootle admin upload it to Pootle.


Work with Glossary

Once glossary is successfully uploaded to Pootle, related translations are displayed to aid translators in translation page.
