| <fme> | Here's some information Svante gave me regarding the current state of ODFDOM: | |
| <fme> | We are in the final state of code generation of all ODFDOM classes. | |
| <fme> | As earlier discussed on the mailing list, code generation will be a Java based approach that generats all ODFDOM Java sources for ODF element and ODF type classes. | |
| <fme> | The usage of Java instead of XSLT will allow Java-only developers to review/participate in the generation of the classes as well, not introducing a further technology in a Java focused project. | |
| <fme> | It further allows easier code debugging, regression testing, etc.. | |
| <fme> | A further enhanced generation feature is that a new source code template mechanism that depends only on one templates file, allowing some repeating/conditional syntax, lowering the level to create the ODFDOM API in other languages than in Java. | |
| <fme> | Details will follow, Christian Lippka was able to move mountains to enable the new generation features and is still in the progress of testing. | |
