My name is Jan, I am danish living in southern spain.

I started working with computers in 1975 (no PCs just either big red ones or calculator style).

In 1977 I started on the university to study civil engineer, but was soon caught up in the upcoming PC business. My first company was started in 1978 while I worked on danish government databases.

I used the 80ties to bridge mainframes with PCs and had quite a nice period in the us, in a at that time in small town named palo alto.

I spent the 90ties building my companies internationally working for a world wide represented company in the energy sector, where I specialized in project management of international projects as well as "finding the right tools for the right task".

In early 2000, I re-sized due to the IT bobble, but became heavily involved with Siemens, who had me develop a key component of a new product line.

In 2011 I decided to stop burning my candle light in both ends...so I stopped working (for money).

I have been a fore-fighter of openSource all my life, so now it is my time to give a lot back !!

Today I relax and keep my skills updated by participating in openSource communities.

I have used openOffice for many years, and lately I have had a chance of using my skills to help (among many other dedicated people) to improve the package, which I am proud of.
