Objective

The objective of this SOP is to improve the wiki and ease maintenance and navigation through the wiki, by implementing a standardised way of creating new wiki-pages.

Procedure

Page Name

  • group new wiki page under relevant Top-Level Wiki Page/Subpage
Every new Wiki-Page shall be grouped under a relevant project as per Top Level Wiki Pages-SOP.
  • assign a relevant name to the new wiki page
  • create new Wiki-Page under [[_Top_Level_Wiki_Page_/_Subpages_/_Relevant_New_Page_Name_]]
  • A good name is short and descriptive. If the name is logical and easy, many more people will link to it.
  • A good name is more likely to look like a chapter title of a book than a complete sentence.
  • This Wiki allows you to create pages with a single word as a name, but try to use at least two words - we don't want to exhaust the name space :-).
  • Double-check WikiNames for typos - otherwise someone will create a misnamed page! Misnamed pages are bad, since linking to them requires more effort than to a logical, correct WikiName.

Assigning Categories

Every new Wiki-Page shall be assigned one or more relevant categories as per Signing Wiki Pages-SOP.

Link

Add a link from a Top-Page to the new wiki-page.
