Hello, I have another way to update biblio entries.

Select the entry like [3] select the number and brackets, then insert the same biblio entry over this one, OO will say that the one in db differs from the one in the text and if you want to preceed, you say yes and it updates this entry. It does not matter if you have many occurrences of the same entry. At leat for me it works
  
Is there any (automatic) way to coalesce multiple bibliographic references onto a single one? I mean, something like [1-3,56,99] instead of [1][2][3][56][99]. As far as I have seen, there is no option in OOo to do that.
